This workshop, we will be looking into the topic of core stability. Not just stability but mobility and strength.
‘Engage your core’ is probably one of the most used terms in the fitness industry. But do we understand what we mean, is it not engaged when we move anyway?
This week we will discuss what the core is, why it is considered the foundation of your movements to allow mobility in the upper and lower body, how it directs power to the the limbs and how it stabilises the spine, ribcage and hips against the external forces or movements applied to them.
We will then look at some basic stability exercises how we progress these in a training programme in order to challenge the stability and improve our movement performance.
